Misiones de Rengo
Andrew travelled to Santiago in Chile and drove two
hours to the little town of Rengo. There he went to a 19th century Spanish mission which is now part of the Misiones winery. His host was Export Director, Francisco Ascui.

Los Robles
Three hours' drive south of Santiago in Chil e lies the little town of Curico, home to the Los
Robles wine co-operative where wonderful humanitarian things are happening. It also makes some delicious wines. Andrew met Sergio Allard Neumann, the Export Director.

Hacienda Zorita (Durius Winery)
Christopher Columbus slept here over a two month period in 1486, while he prepared his
plans for his intended voyage to the New World. He stayed at Hacienda Zorita (the Dove Farm), which was the summer retreat of the Dominican monks of Salamanca University.
Today the hacienda is both a hotel and winery and Andrew went there to meet Victor Redondo, the founder of Haciendas de España. Andrew spoke to Victor as they stood next to an old mill at the edge of the property.

Man, Andrew flew west of Scotland to the Island of Islay in the Inner Hebrides, where he spoke to Bowmore distillery manager, Percy McPherson.

Glen Garioch Highland Single Malt
In the second of his Malt whisky visits Andrew arrived at Old Meldrum in the
Highland region, home to Glen Garioch (pronounced Geery) distillery. Here manager Fraser Hughes explained what happened when the water source dried up.

Auchentoshan Lowland Single Malt
Andrew's third trip was to Auchentoshan
distillery at Old Kilpatrick on the banks of the River Clyde. Distillery manager Ronnie Learmond explained how it is the only triple distilled Lowland Malt in Scotland.

Pays d'Oc region of France, where he met Armin Wagner director of Blue Nun Merlot

Delicato Vineyards
Andrew visited Delicato Vineyards in
Monterey, California and met Chris Indelicato who opened the vineyard gate onto 12,000 acres of vines.

Jindalee
Andrew travelled to Australia to learn about Jindalee, one of
the exciting new successes from the emerging Murray-Darling region. There he met head winemaker, Scott Ireland.

Croft Port
Andrew Jones has been to the Port wine harvest to look at
production at the House of Croft, founded in 1678. Some things have changed in the vineyards, but not in the winemaking.

Kendall-Jackson, Sonoma Andrew travelled to Sonoma,
California to experience the 2002 harvest with Kendall-Jackson, renowned for their Vintner's Reserve Chardonnay.

Editor Andrew Jones recently flew to the exciting Margaret River region of Western Australia, where he

Rymill Coonawarra South Australia
The Editor, Andrew Jones, says Coonawarra is his favourite red wine region in Australia and so was
delighted to visit the area again. On this occasion his host was John Innes, head winemaker and general manager of the prestigious Rymill Coonawarra winery, which is now producing some world class Cabernet.
To his surprise he found one of its wines influenced by Albert Einstein.

As some will know the Flying Wine Man has a penchant for wine history, and so when the opportunity arose to make a Radio Postcard at Australia's oldest surviving winery, he seized the
chance. He travelled to New South Wales, to Wyndham Estate founded in 1828, where his host was chief winemaker, Brett McKinnon.

Nobilo New Zealand
The Marlborough region in the North of New Zealand's
South Island is arguably the finest situation for Sauvignon Blanc and Nobilo one of its most prestigious names. Andrew Jones flew there to see a winery that has been so successful it just cannot
