Here's just a few of the comments from reviewers in Australia and New Zealand.
The pocket-size publication is a fount of knowledge, some of it little known, on things to do
with wine. .... In its 23 chapters there are many tales, some positively Pythonesque; the full Monty in eccentricity.
Derek Ogden, The Gold Coast Bulletin, Australia

Is Andrew Jones's Wine Fact & Fiction
going to fail? I doubt it. … Jones is a great teller of stories, the fascinating allegories about wine and wine people slipping out easily, his soft voice a pleasure to listen to.
It's all a lot of fun. The 154-page book can be opened randomly for an interesting story or a useful tip.
I like it. In fact I hope to build a wine tasting around it. There are plenty of wine stories relating
to wines available here that I can use.

A very different wine book, crammed with amusing facts and off-beat anecdotes about the
world's wineries and vineyards. …. UK-based Jones' first book 'The Stories Behind The Labels' went well here, so there's plenty of Oz-connected yarns. There's a chapter explaining
the meaning behind 21 Aboriginal wine names while Greg Norman, Sam Neill and Shane Warne feature in the wine celebrity chapter with Fidel Castro and Davy Crockett.
Jeff Collerson, The Daily Telegraph, New South Wales

Andrew Jones circles the globe visiting vineyards and teasing out the tales behind the labels.
Perhaps he has an inbuilt 'wine radar'. …. Jones packs [other] curious tales, tidbits, and drawings into his book, including some ingenious inventions. For example: "Vindelible (wine
stains on a white shirt front); Vindiscretion (regrettable behaviour whilst under the influence) and Vindividual (selfish person who keeps all his wine to himself).
Jones's serious advice on wine is: don't be too serious. The main priority: enjoy yourself.

Welshman tells stories as colourful as wine
The world of wine is full of colourful stories, says Andrew Jones, aka the Flying Wine Man. The Welsh broadcaster, wine critic, author and raconteur was in Dunedin recently promoting his latest book.
The book is full of stories and interesting bits of trivial information about wine.
Charmian Smith, Otago Daily Times, New Zealand

International wine writer and broadcaster, Andrew Jones, aka
the Flying Wine Man, travels the world to visit wineries, make broadcasts and discover the finest values.
Andrew has received various awards and honours including the
Glenfiddich Gold Medal for wine trade journalism and intronisation into France's oldest wine order, the Confrérie des Chevaliers du Sacavin. Over the past 7 years he has had 4
books published, specialising in the history, romance and characters from the world of wine and drink. His first book, a handsome volume called The Stories Behind the Labels,
was short-listed for the Prix Lanson. Other books include the extremely popular Wine Talk, which was followed by Whisky Talk and The Aperitif Companion. All his books make easy
reading and bring fun to a world of wine and drink that many treat too seriously. His most recent work is Wine Fact and Fiction, which was launched in the UK, Australia, New
Zealand and Singapore in 2003.
Andrew has also made video and audio programmes for labels in 10 countries and wrote and co-produced the series Ten Green Bottles as seen on the Discovery Channel.
IN THE UK
From 1984 – 1994 Andrew was the weekly wine voice on LBC Radio in London. Now he broadcasts his popular Radio Postcards to some 25 UK local radio stations from wine cellars
across the world. In 2005 he will make over 100 in person appearances on radio stations throughout the country, answering listeners' queries and recommending value for money
wines. He is in great demand as a speaker at wine-themed weekends/evenings and at corporate events. Andrew is currently presenting the popular Vine & Dine Weekends at
Hayley Conference Centres across the country. He is also involved in leading small group wine tours to the Minervois region of Southern France.
Andrew is currently retained as Historical Research Consultant by the prestigious Taylor's Port house where he is collating the history of Croft Port.
IN THE US
Andrew first emerged in the USA in the mid-eighties, where he was quickly dubbed 'The Flying Wine Man' after comparisons in quickfire broadcasting style with 'The Galloping
Gourmet', Graham Kerr. Using his natural ability as a storyteller, he relates the history, romance and characters associated with labels around the globe. His Royal stories, based
on real wine involvements with some of the British royal family, are extremely popular. Andrew has completed a successful US TV and Radio Tour this year. He appeared on over
15 TV stations and on radio he was heard on many of America's biggest stations from KGO San Francisco to CRN Los Angeles to KMOX St Louis and WOR New York.
Andrew is the son of an American father, now deceased, who was raised in Illinois, and a Welsh mother. He is a committed Christian and lives in Kent with his wife, Branwen and son Huw.
