This is a blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. The colour is
a deep purple in the glass with plenty of clinging legs. The nose exudes soft ripe plums and leads to warm bramble fruit on the palate. It is supple and gentle in the mouth with well integrated tannins.
The wine was aged in large vats to allow for early development.
Chateau Haut d'Allard stands on hilly ground at Tauriac, covering 28 hectares of clay and limestone soil, and overlooks the Gironde
estuary.
Try this supple red with lamb roast with rosemary and garlic, leg of pork stuffed with sage, onion and prunes or creamy Brie.
